About Shoot the Little Karoo - Part II

This is an open invitation to anyone who would like to “Shoot the Little Karoo” with Jenny and myself from the 24th till the 26th of September 2010.
Most of you who regularly view my photo-stream will have realized by now that I am passionate about the Little Karoo. I first started my love affair with this region about twelve years ago... I’m not exactly sure how I knew this... but right from my very first visit to the area, I was absolutely certain that the Little Karoo would play a big part of my destiny.
About two years after discovering the “magical” Little Karoo, I had the opportunity to purchase a few hundred unspoiled hectares of mountain-side, approximately halfway between the towns of Ladismith and Calitzdorp. This was in the time before the property boom, when the price of undeveloped Karoo veld could still be measured in sheep (one hectare = one sheep). Since purchasing my mountain paradise, I’ve been visiting this “farm” at least once a month, and at most every weekend… or whenever the stress of city living gets a bit too much.
So here's the deal...
I would hereby like to invite you (and your partner) to join Jenny and I on a photographic long-weekend from Friday the 24th till Sunday the 26th of September. We could all stay over in the cottage and/or campsite, and we can explore the surrounding mountains and all the local attractions, photographing what we discover and enjoying the fresh clean Karoo air. Weather permitting, we will also have the opportunity to view (and photograph) the night skies through a telescope, brought along by Chris, a keen amateur astronomer.
All you need to bring along is your tent, mattress and sleeping bag, and some food and drinks… and your camera of course!
And hey, if you’re not into the camping thing, then there are a number of local B&Bs and guesthouses for you to choose from.
Please feel free to join this group and to comment or question anything at all. I have opened some discussion threads to explain all the finer details and keep everyone updated on the latest developments.
Hope to see you all there!
