About Shelter Shots: Photographers Donating Photography to Shelters

This group is for professional and amateur photographers who are interested in volunteering or who currently volunteer at a local animal shelter, donating their photography services for the purpose of helping homeless animals get adopted.

Professional photography can be the difference of life and death for some animals. Most shelters and rescue organizations can't afford professional photography or even an entry level SLR for staff to use. Sometimes this results in poor imagery and animals who appear scared, aggressive or unhealthy - when in fact they are perfectly adoptable! We can help!

My goal is to spread the word about donating photography to shelters and rescue organizations. It's a great way for budding photographers to practice, for professionals to gain positive PR and for all of us to contribute to our communities. I'd like this group to be a place where we share images of shelter animals, offer tips on photographing and interacting with abused/rescued animals as well as a place we all come to celebrate success stories and provide inspiration.

THANK YOU!

Heather
