However Mozaz sat with folk, whether positive or negative, he doesn't deserve this happening to him and I am genuinely shocked to hear this.

A quick update - Mozaz is still extremely ill and in inetensive care. He is having a trachyotomy fitted this afternoon which is a step forward. This means his ventilator tube can be removed from his throat, enabling him to be woken up at last. Finger crossed it all goes well. He's by no means out of the woods yet and is still incredibly poorly.

Dear All,
I'm sad to have to say that Mozaz died in the early hours of this morning.

Very strange feelings about this. We parted on very bad terms, after he'd thrown wild accusations at me and started making some pretty severe threats. I thought I'd be glad to see the back of the old bugger, but I'm sad to know that I'll never see him around again.
One of my happiest memories of Mozaz was when we were photographing a gig, Cuckoo Clocks at the Harley, and he kept thanking me for encouraging his interest in photography - said that it had changed his life, enabling him to find self-respect and respect from others.

Like Dan, I'm not sure what to say about Mozaz and what has happened.
We had a number of run-ins, some just recently - but it's strange to think that he's no longer out there raging against something, or ranting at someone.
The world needs people like Mozaz, and Sheffield is certainly a changed place without him.

I think we all have similar views on this - I had a few good laughs and conversations with him and also few run-ins as most of you will know because of the beer meets I used to arrange. Still, not good news.
Here's a pic of him from one at the Red Deer:

Thought you might enjoy this - a few years ago, I had a radio show on Sheffield Live. For the Christmas Day show, I decided to do a radio play version of the William S Burroughs story "The Junkie's Christmas", and asked Mozaz to play the junkie:

Very sad to hear about Mozaz, I barely knew him, though we'd chat about photography when we bumped into each other.
For many, one Mozaz was enough, but the last photo I took of him was with a triple lens camera, so here's three for the price of one!
RIP

Thought people might like to know that he had a solid group of friends who absolutely adored him, with him almost constantly for the last 3 days. We took it in turns to sit with him, chat to him, insult him and just be there for him. He knew we were there and he went quickly when the time came. We are all absolutely devastated at the fact that he is gone and we'll never see him again. We're going to make sure his final wishes are carried out and give him the unconventional send off he deserves!
I shall post details as and when.
Sam xx

I'm very sorry to hear this sad news. I only met Mozaz a few times on the beer meets and someone with such a huge personality will be sorely missed by his friends. My thoughts are with you.
This is one photo of Mozaz at one of the beer meets posing with a photography book entitled "special problems"

Read in the local paper today that Mozaz died in hospital. I didn't know him well, he was more of an aquaintance, but we photographed a couple of abandoned factories together. The world is now a less interesting place. Sad day. Only the good die young.
