About Sharp Photography Group

Welcome to the Sharp Photographers Group!

Sharp is St George’s only student magazine. As an official publication endorsed by St George’s Student Union, Sharp aims to provide a prominent voice for St George’s diverse student body. Sharp is dedicated to covering all manner of stories of interest to our students. From current affairs that impact on the lives and future careers of students, to coverage of student events, social and community issues. Sharp is produced entirely by students for students!

Your days at university are often quoted as the best of your life and the most memorable. Photography enables us to capture these memories forever. From long-established annual events such as The Fashion Show, The Musical and The Tooting Show, to regular fancy-dress discos, student life at St George’s is a unique experience.

Sharp relies on its photographers to capture these events and deliver high quality images that are used throughout the magazine. Attendance at George’s events (for free as long as its for Sharp!) is therefore important as well as accompanying writers on location to interviews. Owning or having access to a digital SLR camera is essential.

This group is for students at St George’s, University of London, who are interested in photography. This group will allow you to meet fellow photographers and discuss all manner of photography related subjects, from the technical to creative!

The photos in this group are dedicated to capturing student life at St George’s. Although the majority of these photos will be of events at George’s, we are also interested in sharing images of the everyday beauty of student life at St George’s and the people involved in it.

The Sharp Photographers Group will be organising training and other social events for photographers at St George’s, helping to promote the photographic opportunities available at Sharp. Extensive photography experience is not essential – enthusiasm is!
