About Seven Star Women's Kung Fu

Located in Seattle, Washington, Seven Star Women’s Kung Fu has been teaching martial arts and self defense to women and girls since 1981.

The style taught at Seven Star is the Gaylord Method of Kajukenbo Chu’an Fa Kung Fu. Created in Hawaii in the 1940s, Kajukenbo was the first indigenous American martial art. It combines aspects of Tang Soo Do (Korean Karate), Kodokan Judo, Jujitsu, Kosho Ryu Kenpo, and Shaolin Kung Fu (also known as Chinese Boxing).

Developed for use in street fighting, especially against larger opponents, Kajukenbo combines practical skills for self defense with the style and grace of traditional martial arts.
