S.C. Hall of Fame Fuji Finepix F11 / F10
|
This camera is circa 2005
I still think the shots are less noisy then the Panasonic DMC-TZ5 i just got. I am disappointed with the 9-10 megapixel replacements currently on the market. However, I have only tested two so far. What good are pixels if the image has noise in it even at low ISO's?
15sec exposure max made it fun for night shots. I later got the F11 which is the same except it includes AV and TV modes and more pixels in the display and 800iso video. The F11 was marketed only in Europe.
No Image Stabilization but a usable 1600 ISO and f2.8 aperture somewhat made up for the lack of IS.
Battery life is remarkable rated at 400-500 shots per charge.
It has been dropped on concrete at least twice and still functions well.
I liked the 30fps video too.

I Still love my F11 and I agree with everything you all said. I'd like to point out that it's got a great little mic as well. Brilliant for Youtubing music videos.
Check out Booze and Blues by Brummy Blues duo Kirsty & Kenny and you'll see what I mean.

I just picked up a couple of these F10 cameras for $35 plus postage the pair. I've wanted something small to do low light and am thinking to adapt one as a remote birding camera.
I am wondering is there a way to power the unit externally? I am sure I can hack the camera to make it work, but if I can do it without using a modded battery I would like to do so.
Ideally what I want is to be able to leave it powered on for long periods of time, monitor the LCD externally on s TV monitor remotely, and trigger a shutter actuation.
Possible? yes/no?
