About Self Portrait Challenge - Superpowers

This group is specifically related to the former website, Self Portrait Challenge. That is to say that this is not just another self portrait group on Flickr.

From the "About" page on the main site:
The aim of this site is to create a community - an online community of people participating in a continuous artistic self-expressive art project.

To give a voice to those who want to speak

To encourage self-analysis and self-expression and self-exploration in people who would normally not be able to or don’t have a venue or audience for such.

To encourage people to challenge their personal boundaries

To free up inhibitions and allow that inner hidden something to be occasionally seen.

That says most of it.

The purpose for this group on Flickr is to fill the gap as Kathreen, the site's creator, takes a sabbatical, so that we can continue to grow and support this community that she has created.

So -- here's how it's going to work:
As much as possible, my intention is to make this group function as much like the main site as possible, only formatted to fit in the Flickr world.

I will post new monthly themes. Based on your interpretation(s) of that theme, group members add their self portrait photos to the group pool weekly. (Please stay on topic folks -- if it isn't obviously a self portrait or if you're stretching the interpretation of the theme in some way -- just let me know. Thanks!)


If you leave a comment on a photo in the pool, you may want to identify where you found the photo. You may use the following code to do so (just copy and paste the code between the lines)
