About Scottish Wildcats

Scottish Wildcats. Get yours at bighugelabs.com

This group is to help raise awareness of the plight of Felis silvestris grampia known to most as the Scottish Wildcat. It is strictly for photographs of this rare and illusive cat, and the discussion of matters relating to it, such as the captive breeding programs in existence throughout the UK.

Currently there are only about 400 breeding cats in the wild, plus those in captive breeding programs, so we really are talking about a species on the edge...

Where to see our Wildcats within the breeding programs:

Highland Wildlife Park, Inverness-shire, Scotland
Camperdown Wildlife Centre, Dundee, Scotlan
Edinburgh Zoo, Edinburgh, Scotland
Birmingham Nature Centre, Birmingham, England
Twycross Zoo, Atherstone, England
Port Lympne Wildlife Park, Kent, England
Wildwood, Kent, England
Wingham Wildlife ParkWingham Wildlife Park, Kent, England
