Well,
I would love to share a little information about Himalaya's range of Mountains ...

The Himalayas extend from west to east for about 2,500 km in a curve, from the Pamit Knot in the northwest to the valley of the Brahmaputra River in the east. And with a width of 100 - 400 km. The Himalayas range covering an area of 612,021 sq. km.

It passes through Nepal, Indian (5 States: Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Sikkim), China (Tibet), Bhutan and Pakistan.

Being the world's highest mountain chain, the Himalayas is characterized by its great height, complex geologic structure, snowcapped peaks, large valley glaciers, deep river gorges, and rich vegetation.

Himalayas are a magnificent monument on the Earth. It represents the awe-inspiring power, beauty, and grandeur of Nature. It constitutes the greatest attraction to adventurers, climbers and trekkers throughout the world.

Altitude of the peaks in Himalayan range (Some are Really High!)
The Himalayas are divided into several parallel ranges from south to north:

- Sub Himalayas. (With an average altitude of 900 - 1,200 meters.)

- Lower Himalayas. (With an average altitude of 3,700 meters.)

- Great Himalayas. (A single range rising above 6,000 meters with nine of the 14 highest peaks in the world, including Mt Everest.)

- Tibetan Himalayas. (Tibet Plateau, with an average altitude 4,000 - 4,5900 meters, well known as the Roof of the World.)

The pictures posted by my friend Manan above are some of the Himalyan peaks, whose beauty and sheer size are worth seeing once in lifetime .. offcourse they are inhabited by some of the most humble people from India.

Enjoy the might of India

Those are almost the mutual feelings we have.

Most amongst us have not really seen Scotland in pictures, but i adore a few places on earth .. few of them are Scotland, Norwegian skies, Greek Islands and blue seas and a few more ...which we shall move onto once we pamper our sight and inhale the freshness of the colossal Scottish skies and beauty, that we witness in the pictures in the pool here.

Am really pleased to have shared this gesture of exchange between the countries.

Many thanks to you and all the people .. Baz, Colin, Kate, Mr. Calum Davidson, Pamela and all the other Scottish friends for such a warm and kind welcome.

This is in a place called Arki in the state of Himachal Pradesh. A state rich in mountain ranges and beautiful scenic routes.

panorama1

This is the Imam Bara in Lucknow state
DSC_0088
The architecture of Bada Imambara reflects the era when the ornamented Mughal design was on its pinnacle. In fact, it is the last puritan Indo-Islamic architecture and doesn't incorporate any European elements such as use of iron and spires. The sanctum of Imambara consists of a large vaulted central chamber containing the tomb of Asaf-ud-Daula. The hall that is 170 feet long and 55 feet wide stands 50 feet from the ground. It is interesting to note that it has no beams supporting the ceiling. In fact Bada Imambara is one of the largest arched constructions of its kind in the world.

DSC_0129

There are as many as eight surrounding chambers built to different roof heights, permitting the space above these to be reconstructed as a three-dimensional labyrinth with passages interconnecting with each other through 489 identical doorways. This part of the building, known as is a popular attraction, and often the whole complex may be referred to as the Bhul-Bhulayah. It is possibly the only existing maze in India and came about unintentionally to support the weight of the building, constructed on marshy land.

Twilight great snaps...

here are a few from my side...
These are of the Old Fort in Delhi popurarly called "Purana Qila"

DSC_0067

The fort was built in the 16th-century by the Lion King, Sher Shah Suri. In 1539-40, Shah Suri defeated his arch-rival, Mughal emperor Humayun, in two consecutive battles and captured two Mughal strongholds: Delhi and Agra, bringing the Mughal Empire in India to a near end. Shah Suri constructed this enormous fort to defend his most prized possession, Delhi, from the Mughals. Though the fort did not see any major battle event, its very existence kept the Mughals away from invading Delhi until 1545 when Sher Shah Suri died.

How are our friends doing.

Been a while since we interacted. So thought to pass a hello to all ..
Baz, Pam, Ultra, Islandboy. toosuto, Cherrycol, equso, Citril, Alternatangle, Tayne & the rest... My greetings to you all.

How is 2008 coming along for us.

There is a another reason to interact with you yet again as well.
I had discussed with a few friends in here about taking this interaction of ours (which was a wonderful experience) to the LEVEL-2 ..which is as follows :

We are organizing a second - "Photographer's Evening ii" in New Delhi, India.

The objective of the group is to promote serious amateurs & try to get to the commercial circle.

::DETAILS about the event::
QUOTEAlso, networking between various focal points related to Photography - covering possible mentors/teachers/knowledge reservoirs, gear manufacturers, stock agencies/ad agencies, PP software developers, and photography specific journals/webzines/networking groups, Mainline Media, Professional Photographers and Graphic Designers.

Aim is to keep the love for photography alive by aggregating more Photography Enthusiasts & Professional individuals on a common platform and to assist serious amateurs to get acquainted to the commercial world of Photography circuit.

The events related to Photography under the "DFCgroup" banner always aim to catalyze the passion for the medium for which it feels so dearly about from the common man to the commercial arenas, which means adding more members, more live workshops, more interactions & networking events thereby… creating opportunities.

UNQUOTE

Now, how we can take this interaction to level 2 is by taking this offline. At this event, We will be having some projections of photographs from the group on the venue.

I just wanted to check with you all, if you will be interested that we put some of your selected pictures as well in the projection, along with ours at the venue during the course of event & rather have a special feature on Scotland.

Alternatively, Someone amongst you Could send a Power point presentation PPS with a Voice over or pleasant music to match, which could be played at the event to display some of the marvelous pictures that we have seen in here.

(recording of this event could be sent to you or aired on YouTube.com)

Let me know how you feel about the idea on this new discussion thread that i have just created for you all to reply and advise back on -
