20 Jul 08 - Please don't forget the 'memory' aspect. Please avoid posting a photo if you have ended up here for no other reason than a search was done on "scent" and this group popped up. Perfume, flowers, etc. are welcome only if they evoke a special memory for you. A description of the memory isn't required along with every shot (though nice), but if it's absent, the shot should at least evoke a minimum sense of mood.

About ScentMemory

ScentMemory is for your images that explore the links between scent, personal memories and the resulting emotions... often related to strong personal feelings of happiness, longing, nostalgia, childhood, etc., as with the madeleine in Proust's Remembrance Of Things Past. There's a good short discussion of this effect here. (Not my site, however).

If it's not obvious, please add some comments to your images that explain how they're meaningful to you, what memories and emotions they trigger.

Only images that are clearly off-topic, are of items being offered for sale (do not use this group to promote your products or services, no matter how subtly!), or those that violate Flickr's rules for public groups will be deleted. Please keep it focused on the theme: not just scent, but memory also. Hopefully more rules won't be necessary. Enjoy!
