This is my answer to all those landscape groups that won't let you post if you have a telephone wire (and who doesn't if you don't live on a FARM?!) or a building, or an animal, or a person in the shot!

If your pic is of a scenic nature, but there are cars or boats or other things in it that keep you from posting to the landscape purist's groups, then feel free to post to "Scenics, not just landscapes!" Remember, scenics are about SCENES, and that can be just about anywhere!

There has been some controversy as to when to use the special award icon. It's original purpose was to be a special award that you could give if you felt a pic was really superb and over the top! Although it's suggested that normally you would use this award for pics which had already received some attention from the group, this isn't necessary. What IS necessary it that it be a really remarkable pic! Feel free to use it, but make sure the photos you award are of a truly exceptional quality. If it makes you gasp and drop your jaw with envy when you look at it, it's time for a special award!
