About Save Polaroid - Self Portraits

Polaroid has announced that it will stop making film. This group is a companion to www.savepolaroid.com, a site dedicated to keeping the film alive, hopefully by convincing another company to produce it.

The point of this group is to put a faces and stories to all the Polaroid users out there and show potential companies that might consider taking over production, who we are and why we're serious about saving instant film. Even if it doesn't work, it will be a great collection of our photos and stories.

1. Post 1 (and 1 only) photo of YOURSELF taken with a Polaroid film camera.

2. Your photo page MUST have an explanation or story in the description about why you love Polaroid Instant film and why you think it's should be saved. You can write 1 sentence or you can write a novel - it's up to you.

If you like, mail the photo and your story to Fujifilm or Ilford (addresses here).

The idea of taking a photo of ourselves came from a comment by KNOBBYKNEEz, who suggested sending pictures to Fujifilm to show our concern and dedication. Great Idea! If you want to mail your pictures and story to Fujifilm or to Ilford (the two most likely to produce the film) you can find those addresses at the Save Polaroid website.

Please note that by submitting a photo and story, it may also appear on savepolaroid.com. We will not alter your photo or change your words but we reserve the right to correct punctuation and spelling for presentation purposes.
