About Santa Ponsa
Santa Ponsa is a resort on the Southwest coast of Mallorca, approximately 10miles (16Km) from Palma. It comes under the municipality of Calviá.
Santa Ponsa has played its part in Mallorcan history. On 10th September 1229, King Jaime arrived on the island and set out on his quest to take back the island from the Moors, after more than 300 years of Muslim rule. The cross at the entrance to the marina commemorates the spot where King Jaime arrived in Santa Ponsa and is the best known landmark in the resort.
