The Samsung Digimax L85 is an 8 megapixel, 5x optical zoom digital camera with a one-of-a-kind retro styling, arguably high quality fit and finish, full manual controls, and definite bulk and heft that most "compact" digitals can no longer claim to have.
With a max ISO of 400, and with a lack of image stabilization, your low light and action shots might be somewhat limited, but this camera does offer exposure times of up to 15 seconds, which is better than some superzooms. So if you don't mind using a tripod, then the L85 works just fine.
