I have a little trick I use sometimes to get people to smile and look less stiff in group photos.

Step 1: Tell your subjects to pretend it the saddest day of their lives. Take a photo.

Step 2: Tell your subjects to pretend it's the happiest day of their lives. Now you have a fun group photo!
