About Red-tailed Hawk Living Gallery
There is a lot to learn about the variation in this spectacular raptor. It breeds across North America, into the Caribbean and through Central America. It has numerous subspecies, some are well-known, but many are poorly delineated. This is a chance for eBirders (www.ebird.org) and Flickr users to make a real difference in the understanding of one of North America's finest birds. By including your Red-tailed Hawk photos here and tagging them with date, location, state, and county, we can build a living gallery of variation in this species. Ideally photos would be accompanied by data submitted on the observation to eBird (www.ebird). Photos of territorial breeders are most wanted, as these will help paint the clearest picture of variation across the large breeding range!
