The Royal the Luxe - stencil project - Banksy style...

The little giant - Banksy style
---------------------------------------
Recently I saw some great artwork from the well known guerillia artist Banksy in London made with stencils.
I decided to do a Royal de Luxe - stencil project.
1. Take one photo from your Royal de Luxe collection and crop it if needed for a nice
composition.

2. Use a program like acdsee photo editor, photoshop or another program
capable of tweaking colors, saturation, contrast, cutout or contour filter.
I heard it 's even possible in ms-word.
Get rid of things you don't want to see on the final result with your paint-program (p. ex. : the ropes on this one).

3. Print the manipulated picture 3 times (see 'royal de luxe stencil - printout').
It can help to use acetate instead of paper for positioning later on...
4. Use a sharp little knive and cut out the whole area where
the figure is on the first print-out (see 'royal de luxe stencil - grey').

5. Now take the second printout and cut out only the black area's
(see 'royal de luxe stencil - black').

6. Now take the 3th printout ('royal de luxe stencil - white') and cut out
only the white bits.

7. Take piece of paper or canvas (same size of printout)
8. take a spray can or paint of your prefered coulour for the background,
paint the canvas or paper with it. Wait until it's dry.
9. take the 'royal de luxe stencil - grey' and put it on the canvas,
use some tape and use grey paint (or grey spray can) on canvas
or paper, carefully remove stencil. Wait until it's dry.
10. Take the 'royal de luxe stencil - black' and put it on the right place above
the grey area, use some tape, use black paint (or black spray can) on canvas or paper, carefully remove stencil.
Wait until it's dry.
11. Take the 'royal de luxe stencil - white' and put it on the right place above
the already painted area's, use some tape, use white paint (or white spray can) on the
canvas or paper, carefully remove stencil. Wait until it's dry.
12. Your stencil artwork is ready.

Play a bit with other colours and be creative, have fun !

Please let us know if you try something like this too...
