About Royal Canal Amenity Group

Ireland's Royal Canal runs from Dublin to Cloondara in Co. Longford. Although no longer considered to be a viable commercial route, it has enormous amenity value to the communities along its route. The Royal Canal Amenity Group was established to promote and maintain the Canal and its environs. In 2010, the Canal was fully restored for navigation, for the first time in decades, largely on foot of the continual good work of the RCAG and its members.

This flickr group contains images of the modern life of the Canal - its people, its vessels, and its environment. We hope you enjoy it, and if you want to know more about the Royal Canal or the Royal Canal Amenity Group, come and visit us on our website!
