About Things On Roofs
1. Think Ghostbusters and the Stay Puft Giant Marshmallow Man. Serious roof-top kitsch
LARGE objects, figures, cars, statues, etc that people place on rooftops for advertising or show purposes or any other purpose one may have for placing large objects on ones roof. No billboards, signs, posters. Tasteless kitsch.
2. Taken from ground level to get the sense of height, or if taken from the rooftop, then including some kind of background indicating the height...
3. No architectural building elements: antennae, satellite dishes, a/c units, fans, air vents, solar panels, chimneys. No architectural decorative elements: crosses, owl figurines, statues, weather vanes, smaller or common objects. If the architect thought it was a tasteful, integral part of the plan, it's not kitschy enough.
4. Preferably inanimate objects - NO people jumping off or on rooftops, no cats, dogs or ferrets on the prowl... (or any other animals on or off the prowl or looking for or out of nests)
5. NOT things on car, bus, SUV or submarine roofs like bike racks, mattresses, etc. The idea is to find something funny AND large... (although a car, bus, SUV or submarine ON a roof would work)
6. No trees, plants, shrubs, etc growing on penthouse rooftops - although a scarecrow on a building roof alone would probably look amusing...
7. No cg images.
8. Things alongside of roofs, essentially on the (top of) a wall work just as well; like the famous car-coming-out-of-the-wall thing...
9. Gas stations and car dealerships are great sources for Things On Roofs!
Suggestions welcome ;-)
