Which Ancient Roman would you like a lunchtime conversation with?
 |
On our main site www.romanitas.net we have reported on Italian opposition leader Silvio Berlusconi's comments this week that his Latin is so good that he could engage in lunchtime conversation with Julius Caesar.
Which Ancient Roman would you 'do lunch' with, and what questions would you like to ask them?
We're assuming you'll not be dining with Livia as it may be your last meal!
Your nominations please....

I would have to say either Caesar or Marcus Aurelius. I'm sure Caesar would have amazing stories to tell, and discussing philosophy with Marcus would be a blast!

Lucius Cornelius Sulla. You just know it would be a good time, you just wouldn't know exactly what to expect to happen!

For me I would have to say Augustus for his stories of his rise from noble boy to one of the most important historical figures in the history of man, and Cicero for his rhetorical skills and ambition.
Thanks for all of your contributions.
