About Rolling Acres Mall

A tribute to the now defunct Rolling Acres Mall in Akron, Ohio. Once the region's dominant shopping choice, Rolling Acres fell victim to poor management and chain store bankruptices that left many vacancies in the mall and surrounding retail corridor contributing to the mall's decline.The mall sat ailing with just a handful of stores until October 31, 2008 when First Energy shut off the mall's power due to non payment. The city of Akron is preparing to foreclose on the mall because the property taxes have not been paid in some time, leaving the future of this once great mall in question.
