26 Feb 08 - Thank you all for posting your shots. We have had to put a limit on how many can be posted in one week - set at 5 currently, as we get a flood of images sometimes, severely disrupting the flow of the Group.

It would help if you can post your best shots, not just all your shots and placing some educational detail about the shot is highly encouraged. Otherwise, a little poetry or quotation might help set the mood. From time to time, we will clear-out some contributions.

About Rodin and his protégés

"Beauty is like a soul that hovers over the surface of form. Its presence is unmistakable in Art or in Life. The measure of its revelation depends on the measure of our own soul-consciousness, the boundaries of our own spirit." -- Gutzon Borglum

"The contemplation of beauty causes the soul to grow wings." --Plato

"… Les plus beaux sujets se trouvent devant vous : ce sont ceux que vous connaissez le mieux … Le grand point est d’être ému, d’aimer, d’espérer, de frémir, de VIVRE. Etre homme avant d’être adulte ! " --Testament d’Auguste Rodin

This is about Rodin, Camille Claudel and all those who have studied with and under the great master. Pick your best please to show off this wonderful talent who left us so much and contributed to the development of so many artists.

Of course, the temptation is to fill this with Rodin's fantastic work, but we should try to get the best and generate diversity. Camille Claudel, Emile Antoine Bourdelle, Aristide Maillol, Charles Desiau, Carl Millet, Séraphin Soudbinine, John Gutzon Borglum, Gustav Klimsch, Louis Mathet, American Samuel P. Colt, and Joseph Bernard are all terrific candidates as well. I prefer sculpture that is "Rodinesque" style, but I leave it up to you. There is a large body of work to choose from.

Hopefully we can make this inspirational and educational. Lets see how we do.
