I'm relatively indifferent about Vas. Not a coffee drinker and there's not much else there to interest me but I'd still go for the group meeting.

Other venues [we've used before] include... Salena's, Bodhi's, Tap & Mallet, Distillery, Spot, etc...
Ideally (IMO) we'd have a flexible space to allow an unknown number of people to come and go, rather than wait-to-be-seated table seating, a variety of drinks, and no-obligation food for those who want it.
I'm not sure what fits that bill exactly!

It would also be nice to be able to sit outside somewhere (Vas accommodates that but nobody chose to take advantage of it).

I think Bodhi's fits the bill - outdoor accomodations and alcohol...
Will we be reviewing photos from Project #2? If so, I guess we won't be using a projector if it's gonna be held outdoors.

Bodhi's it is, by popular demand and/or general indifference. Original post has been updated above with this:
7:00pm at Bodhi's Cafe in Village Gate, perhaps outside in the courtyard if it's nice out.
Regarding theme contest critiques, the projector probably won't work out so well this time, but if someone brings a laptop, we can crowd around and comment.
Bodhi's has food and drink. They close at 10pm.

The new patio at Boulder would have been superb. We could have saved Bodhi's for our second year anniversary of meets next month, then go to Boulder at Brooks Landing when it opens by November.

It doesn't matter if you submit to the pool or the theme "contest". The meetings are mostly a social gathering. It's just another good reason for us to get together.

I'll bring the photos downloaded on to my laptop. It's not a huge screen (I got a new laptop since last meeting) but it will work. I wish I had time to shoot something for the photo project, I've barely had time to shoot my Photo A Day which I've not uploaded any of since early August I think!

Hey!! Pretty good meetup you guys!
Joe was a little on the late side, but hey, better late than never.
It was nice meeting some of the new people.
As well as sad that it was Mike's last meetup before moving far far away. Hopefully he will stay in touch. We'd really love to see pictures!!
We will have to plan some kind of outing very soon.
Maybe something fall related.
Apple farms, and pumpkins or something.
Or Wine tour maybe !

Hey thanks for all the well-wishes last night. I will certainly keep posting here on Flickr (just renewed the Pro subscription!), so keep your eyes peeled. Might be a while 'til I have my computer up and running, but it'll happen...
Thanks also for those who took home gifts to lighten my load. Mike, those books have your name on them, so I'll see you tomorrow morning.
