About Robert Smythson

Photographs of the works of Robert Smythson (died 15th October 1614 aged 79). More information can be found at en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Smythson His memorial at Wollation Church in Nottingham records him as being an "Architecter" (sic). It is believed that Smythson was the first person to be referred to as an Architect in England.

It is permissible to include photographs of buildings that were designed by his son John Smythson (died 16th November 1634)
