About Roast (Flickr Roast)

As a group (Dollen crew) we make a point of roasting ourselves and those associated with us. It's good fun and a way to expose the good and bad habits while keeping it all a bit tongue and cheek. Models typically love us for it and most photogs take it pretty well. We are never out to hurt anyones feelings but we don't pull punches either. So, I thought that it might be fun to kick the new year off with some random roasting and toasting. If you are game just give us the link to the image. We will give you a hidden link back and from there you decided who gets to see it.

We use a lot of arrows and "John Madden" style markings. Here is one of our own images to give you the idea:

A roast, in North American English, is an event in which an individual is subject to publicly bearing comedic insults, praise, outlandish true and untrue stories and heartwarming tributes. The implication being that the roastee is able to take the jokes in good faith and as not being serious criticism or insult, and therefore showing their good nature. It is seen as a great honor to be roasted, as the individual is surrounded by friends, fans, and well-wishers, who can receive some of the same treatment as well during the course of the evening. The party and presentation itself are both referred to as a roast. The host of the event is called the roastmaster. Anyone who is honored in such a way is said to have been "roasted".
