About Riverwood ConservancyFall and winter are wonderful seasons at Riverwood! Bring your family and enjoy the fresh crisp air as you explore our trails. Now that the leaves have fallen, you can enjoy the drama of the bare branches in stark silhouette against the sky and the open aspect of the forest offers you a better chance to glimpse one of many wild creatures that inhabit the property even in winter. Perhaps you will see one or more of the White-tailed Deer that roam the property or be scolded by a feisty Red Squirrel guarding his cache of spruce cones. Many wild birds enjoy the natural shelter and abundant food provided by woodland, meadow, and wetland habitats, supplemented by feeding stations along the Scotts Wild Bird TREK. Our Black-capped Chickadees are both hungry and friendly--will they feed from your hand? |
