About Vancouver Island Rhododendrons & Azaleas

Images of rhododendrons growing somewhere on Vancouver Island ... including the Gulf Islands. The images may come from private or public gardens or the wild. Name and location would be appreciated.

Rhododendron images from the mainland are weeds and will be dealt with accordingly. :-)

Rhododendrons are divided into seven or eight subgenera. Two of these, including the subgenus Vireya, are the scaly-leaved or lepidote rhododendrons. The remaining subgenera are non-scaly or elepidote. These include three significant subgenera: deciduous azaleas (e.g. R. luteum), evergreen azaleas and the kurume azaleas.
