How to Enter
1) Read the contest rules.
2) Join the "Red River Revel Photo Contest" Flickr group.
3) Add your best photos to the "Red River Revel Photo Contest" Flickr photo group.
4) Tag your photos with: a) current contest identifier, “RRR11”; b) the category, “People/Activity, Musical Performances..”. Example tag set: “RRR11, People/Activity”
Eligibility
Red River Revel photo contests are open to ALL photographers of all ages, except employees of the Red River Revel. The contest is open to all participants regardless of residence or citizenship, so long as the laws of their jurisdiction allow participation.
Winning Photos
• The Red River Revel staff will choose the winners based on composition, relevance to category, creativity and overall impression. Winners will be announced on the Red River Revel Flickr Group page and on the Red River Revel Facebook and Twitter pages. Red River Revel retains the sole discretion over the selection of, and decision not to select, any particular entry as a winner. Red River Revel shall determine the winner eligibility in its sole and absolute discretion. All decisions made by judges are final.
• Winners will be contacted on or about October 12, 2011 through their Flickr accounts. Winners will be required to respond to the Red River Revel via email within 7 days or an alternate winner will be selected.
• Red River Revel will send an official entry form to be signed by the winner. Winner must mail or fax the signed entry form to Red River Revel within 7 days or an alternate winner will be selected.
• Red River Revel may require a higher quality resolution of the winning photograph. If one of suitable resolution for print is not available, an alternate winner may be selected.
Contest Rules and Conditions
• The subject of all entries MUST be a designated Red River Revel Management Area.
• Entries MUST be uploaded to the "Red River Revel Photo Contest" Flickr photo contest group between Saturday, October 1, 2011 and Saturday, October 8, 2011 (11:00 PM Central).
• To be eligible, photos MUST be tagged RRR11. Photos without the tag RRR11 will not be entered in the contest.
• Each participant may enter up to three (3) images per category, twelve (12) images total.
• All photographs must be your own work and you must own the right to distribute the image.
• You must have the consent of those whose faces are visible in the image. Upon request, you may be required to provide a release for each individual in the photograph.
• Entries must have a resolution of 1.5 million pixels or greater (1.5 megapixels). Red River Revel Resolution can be calculated by multiplying the pixel width of the image with the pixel height. Images that do not meet this standard may or may not be judged at the judging panel's sole discretion.
• All photographs should accurately reflect the subject matter and the scene as it appeared. Photos that have been digitally altered beyond standard optimization (removal of dust, cropping, reasonable adjustments to exposure, color and contrast, etc.) will be disqualified. Multiple exposures that have been combined to produce a single "High Dynamic Range" image are acceptable. Images that do not meet these requirements may or may not be judged at the judging panel's sole discretion.
• Red River Revel reserves the right to refuse photographs that contain nudity, violent or offensive material trademarked or copyrighted images.
• Red River Revel is not responsible for lost, late, misdirected or incomplete entries or technical errors or difficulties.
• Red River Revel reserves the right to adjust the contest deadline if necessary.
• By entering, participants thereby release and hold harmless the Red River Revel, its employees and agents from any and all liability for any injuries, loss or damage of any kind arising from or in connection with the Contest or any prize won. Restrictions, conditions, and limitations apply.
• By participating in this contest, you agree to the terms of these rules and conditions.
Rights to Photos
Your photographs help the Red River Revel visually show the festival’s identity, history and activities. Thank you for helping us to fulfill our mission through your photography.
You will retain all rights to any photograph you submit -- including ownership if applicable. By entering the 2011 Red River Revel photo contest and tagging your photo with "Red River Revel,” you grant the Red River Revel a nonexclusive right and royalty free license, in perpetuity, to:
• Publish the images for Red River Revel’s purposes in any format, including on Red River Revel’s website and in Red River Revel’s publications or presentations, such as newsletters, brochures, fundraising appeals, public service announcements, grant proposals, reports, awards, thank-you cards, displays, mailings and invitations.
• Use, in connection with the Photo Contest, your name, city, state and country of residence in promotions and other publications.
• Keep the files provided, and to archive the images on CD or in other electronic forms, so that your photos can be used to support our mission and be properly credited.
• As conditions of this permission, Red River Revel shall credit all photographs with the caption “© Person's Name” when the full name is available, or by the participants Flickr username when the participant’s full name is unavailable.
