- Stallions & Mares (w/wo foals)
- Racehorses still at the track but no longer training, & soon to be moved to a farm
- Recently retired horses being paraded in front of fans one last time, ala Curlin.
- Famous Geldings who move on to other sports, ala Kelso.
- Photos from Old Friends, KY Horse Park, or other places horses might go after retirement or being pensioned.

About Retired Thoroughbred Racehorses

A few years ago I was really desperate to find recent photos of some of my favorite horses who were now broodmare or stallions. But I couldn't find any photos other than their conformation shots or old little thumbnails from their racing days.

I recently visited some horse farms in Hokkaido, Japan. And I wanted to put my stallion photos into a group where people could easily find these stars from days gone by. I didn't see one on Flickr... so I made one.
