About Re-Face

CALLING ALL STREET ARTISTS - help us redefine the way we look at STREET ART.

WBMC and art collective ololo are working with the Perth International Arts Festival and ABC TV to examine and reform public perceptions of street art.

In JANUARY 2009, Re-Face will open its virtual door to street artists to upload work.

Displayed on public walls, cubicles and bus stops, stickups, stencils and graffiti engage with communities all around the world yet as 'art' they remain controversial and divisive. Re-Face will test whether people's attitudes are different if the images are impermanent. During the Perth International Arts Festival in Feb-March 2009, Re-Face will utilize large-scale digital PROJECTION to paint the nocturnal city streetscape of Perth.

Re-Face needs your art! Upload your street art photos to the Reface Flickr Pool to be featured on abc.net.au/tv/reface. The site will open in January.

Help alter perceptions, legitimise street art and open minds by plunging yourself and your work into the public arena and drawing attention to a dynamic and vibrant art culture.

Projection locations, curators and maps for the Perth international Arts Festival events will be available in early January 2009.
