Invitation to participate in Dust Storm photo magazine

Hi! I'm Derek Powazek. I'm the cofounder and original editor of JPG Magazine (no longer involved) and I work with HP on a print-on-demand magazine service called MagCloud.com.

I thought it would be fun and timely to create a photo magazine of the Sydney Dust Storm using MagCloud. So I'm writing to solicit submissions of your best photos of the storm.

There's no pay, but all photos will be credited, and anyone who gets published will receive a free copy. The magazine will have no markup, so no one will be making money on your photo. This is just for kicks.

We're trying to turn this around in the next day or two, so please act fast!

Thanks very much,

-- Derek

UPDATE: Submissions are now closed. Thanks everyone!

Before the inevitable disappointment: MagCloud does not yet ship to Australia (bummer, I know). But if you want to buy one, contact me and I'll make arraignments for you.

MagCloud can ship to US, UK, and Canada.

But like I said, if anyone wants to buy one outside of that, just contact me directly and I'll make it happen.

And, yeah, I know. We're working on it.

Derek, got my copies of Strange Light from Cheryl today, a great production, for the price etc I'm very impressed with the paper & print quality.
And the layout is great too, thank you for your efforts.

Thanks to Cheryl for organising the bulk import to Oz too.

and of course a big thanks to all the contributors...

Sadly this sounds like an Oscar acceptance speech, but I mean it all!
