About Redecorate Gilbert's Workspace
What's this, you say? Why, it appears to be a contest!
THE PREMISE: I just moved into a new cubicle space. It needs sprucing up. I'd like your help with it. If your design is the best, I'll actually implement it!
THE CONTEST: Take a look at the pictures in this set. Tell me how you'd want to redesign the space. Pull them into Photoshop (or MS Paint or gimp or even print them out, draw on them, and photograph those) and make edits on them, write flowery descriptions, hell: make a VRML fly-through if you want.
You can make whatever non-structural changes to this space that you want, provided the total cost for materials does not exceed US$100.00. Remember I actually have to work in this space, so please don't suggest that I rope it off and fill it with styrofoam peanuts or grape jelly or mount everything on the ceiling or something.
If you feel like there's not enough information in these pictures, let me know and I'll provide whatever info you need. There's more than adequate power and network available for whatever you could devise.
Post your updated and more aesthetically pleasing pictures into the "Redecorate Gilbert's Workspace" group. Try give the pictures like names so I can differentiate them.
I will select a winner from all the submissions after Aug 31 2009. Additions to the pool after Aug/31/2009 23:59 US/Pacific will not be considered for design candidates (but will probably be enjoyed by everyone else anyway).
WHO CAN PLAY: Anyone! If you can read this, you can submit a workspace design.
THE WINNER: ...will be someone who at my sole choosing and at my discretion has the best redesign. That design will be implemented for my workspace, and I'll post pictures when it's done. And if you find yourself in the Bay Area, I'll invite you over to see it and probably take you to lunch.
THE FINE PRINT: You get actually nothing from this except the possibility of knowing that your design was boss and some weirdo in California did it. I'm the decider of what is good and what isn't, and all decisions are final.
