About Red Bellied Woodpeckers

The group is dedicated to the Red Bellied Woodpecker Melanerpes carolinus

Order PICIFORMES - Family PICIDAE - Subfamily Picinae

The rules of the group are very simple. Upload as many pictures as you like of Red Bellied Woodpeckers. It would be great if you would include as much information about the picture as possible: Where taken . . . gender of the bird . . . stories connected to your sightings, etc.

PLEASE tag your photos - - - simply type "Red Bellied Woodpecker" (including quotation marks!)!!

Nothing can be posted that is not 100% "family friendly" - - - suitable for viewing by the youngest child in a Sunday School class for instance.

No dead or injured birds will be posted. It's nature, I know, but I don't want to see them in the group pool.

No cages . . . please limit man-made objects in the photos - feeders and bird houses are ok as long as the focus of the photo is the bird.

No "obvious" editing or manipulation will be posted in the pool. If you just have to turn a beautiful NATURAL bird into an orange monstrosity with purple eye sockets, please do it somewhere else. If you need to do some fine-tuning of focus or contrast or exposure in an editing program, that's fine as long as you don't make major alterations.

No black and white photos, please. Videos are ok if they're videos of Red Bellied Woodpeckers.

I look forward to seeing your photos!!! Thanks for joining us!

Claire (a/k/a Ga Music Maker)
