About Rectangled Ellipses
There has been a lot of interest in "squared circles" on here, with a number of groups like:

But what about those of us who don't like to crop our pictures? How come there isn't a group that focuses on ellipses? Well, now there is!
Anyone is welcome to join and post any rectangle shaped pictures featuring elliptical objects, or objects that appear elliptical in a photo, due to perspective. An ellipsis is defined as:
A plane curve, especially:
1. A conic section whose plane is not parallel to the axis, base, or generatrix of the intersected cone.
2. The locus of points for which the sum of the distances from each point to two fixed points is equal.
In this group, permitted shapes include ovals (without flat sides), oblong ellipses (three locus points arranged symmetrically), egg shapes, etc., as long as the main subject of the photo has an evenly curved, symmetrical shape. Photos that do not meet these criteria (i.e., partial ellipses, horseshoes, objects with angles, flat sides or straight lines) will be discreetly removed from the pool. Please keep it fun and friendly. If there are any questions, please post them to the group discussion board. Enjoy!
