About RELEASE

RELEASE is an effort to get creative people that work under the radar out of their cosy natural habitat and make their work heard or seen by a wider public. We know there is a lot of undiscovered talent that deserves to get attention and we seek to bridge the gap between them and their potential audience.

We try not to limit ourselves to genres or styles. Which maybe makes our project hard to pinpoint by a simple baseline. What connects the different people we promote is their wayward forward-thinking approach resulting in a off-centre yet accessible art? We also encourage collaborations between musicians, DJs, VJs, filmmakers, graphic designers, photographers and so on. Something that seems only natural to us in these multimedia times.

We do this by organising events where we bring all these people together. To expose their art to a public or to be inspired by (each) other(s). We organise concerts, jams, expositions, screenings, workshops, lectures, … by preference not separately but combined as an multifaceted experience. We also make use of the many different media at our disposal; websites, radio shows, (social) networks, viral videos, … .

Because RELEASE is a continuous effort we are on the constant search for new talent and chances. If our project sparks your interest, do not hesitate to contact us. We’re interested to discover new artists but we’re also looking for possibilities to organise our events or work together with likeminded people and organisations.

RELEASE is a joint venture between Onda Sonora, Laid Back, Eckelwood and On-Point.

This Flickr group is meant to gather pictures taken at our events and art by graphic designers, painters, photographers, ... participating to our events.

Anyone who feels he can add to our quest is welcome.
