About Rare Visions and Roadside Revelations, A Flickr Tribute

As a tribute to, and with an attitude of sincerest flattery (and apologies if needed) I am naming this flickr group after that wonderfully wacky, yet illuminating public television program of the same name - Rare Visions and Roadside Revelations. And to the traveling guys Randy, Mike, and Don the Talking Camera Man, who make it happen.
This flickr group is dedicated to documentation of those marvelous creations described variously as outsider art, visionary art, roadside art, grassroots art, art brut, and occasionally with epithets best not repeated. As a rule, these expressions will be found outside, usually in a field or yard, more often in rural areas than urban, and very rarely in a museum. The creators of these pieces seldom are trained as artists and often create their art from others' refuse (i.e., trash). Contemporary art does not necessarily conform to this description.
Please make every attempt to provide a location for your find, and when possible the name of the artist, so that others may find enjoy what you have discovered. Let's avoid including photos or videos of pieces that were created for commercial and/or advertising purposes.
We hope the TV weasels at Kansas City's KCPT Channel 19, where the show is created, will consider this a tribute and an honor, and not an attempt to rip off their show title which is probably copyrighted. Ooops, I hope I don't need a lawyer. Perhaps they might even send us a photo of themselves with the world's largest (or so they say) ball of video tape.
There are no restrictions on the number of photos or videos submitted, but that may change as the group grows, and horror of horrors - we might even have to have a rule or two. If you've never had the opportunity to see this great piece of public television broadcasting, you can learn more about the show at:
