About Rails-to-Trails Conservancy

Share your photos of Trails, Walking and Biking! We'll periodically introduce new themes that will be organized by tag.

Rails-to-Trails Conservancy is a nonprofit organization based in Washington, D.C., whose mission it is to create a nationwide network of trails from former rail lines and connecting corridors to build healthier places for healthier people.

We serve as the national voice for more than 100,000 members and supporters, 1,453 rail-trails throughout the country, and 12,523 miles of potential rail-trails waiting to be built. Since 1986, we have supported the tremendous growth and development of rail-trails. Today, we continue to dedicate ourselves to the creation of a nationwide network of trails, and further, to commit to a future made better by trails and the connections they inspire.

We have offices in Washington, DC, Canal Winchester, OH, Camp Hill, PA, San Francisco, CA and Tallahassee, FL., though we serve a national constituency.
