About Railroad Depots
"Nothing was more up-to-date when it was built, or is more obsolete today, than the railroad station."
-Ada Louise Huxtable
Nowadays, people fail to remember that most big cities and small towns were started by the railroads. Depots hold a very rich history...If only walls could talk...
Unfortunately, the number of these historic buildings are decreasing each year. With towns deciding that they're no longer needed, and that their taking up space where a gas station can be built. And sometimes fires get started and they're destroyed. Thankfully, some towns do care and have preserved their history and these buildings.

*Restoration work has begun to save the Rural Retreat depot!
