14 Dec 08 - This is a group set up in protest at the continued harrasement of NON TRESPASSING railway photographers in Britain by members of British railway staff on "security" grounds. I would like to suggest that any self respecting terrorist could find all the pictures and info he needed on the web without risking arrest by taking them himself. You may wish to visit the link in the comments section as it contains useful information for all photographers.

About Illegal photographs on Britain's Railways

Today I was accosted by yet another Railway official because I was taking photographs of trains.

So I am setting up this group to enable ANYONE who also has had difficulties doing what railway enthusiasts have been doing for the last 100 years. Photographing trains. Already most of the mainstream British railway magazines have sections on photographer persecution and now I have created this group for the same purpose.
If anyone has photographed a rail official in mid "Photography not allowed" mode then please post that as well.
THIS SITE DOES NOT SEEK TO ENCOURAGE TRESPASS OR CONDONE IT. Railways are dangerous places . Please do not go where you are not allowed to go without seeking permission first.
