About quotation marks
"little things are big "
one of the uses of quotation marks is to give emphasis, or additional meaning, to things that would otherwise pass unnoticed, or remain mundane. taking a photograph is putting quotation marks around that piece of -found or manufactured- reality the photographer deems worth pointing out - and preserving
so, when we say that...
"little things are big "
... we don't mean only truly small things, or small details in the image, but also imperceptible moods, expressions, feelings
but a small thing isn't "big" just because it's pretty - or because it means a lot to our own heart; it becomes "big" when it resonates, when -despite its, at first, insignificant appearance- it starts meaning more and more things - to more and more people
therefore, [self-]portraits, macros and other subject- or technique-defined photographs are welcome, provided they are images that are more than good in their own category - and show some of the characteristics described above. also, photographs with artificial borders and/or signatures do not quite fit in with this group's aesthetics
[so please do not be offended if the administrators -the first "more and more people" to see your work within this particular group- have removed an image you submitted. and please do not re-post images that you have already posted but no longer see in the pool: they have been removed by the administration, in order to enhance the group's flow and maximize its impact, for the benefit of both participants and viewers. re-posting will incur the risk of immediately disqualifying the insistent member, without additional warning. the group's administration believes that all members are represented fairly and to their advantage, and the group's explicit intentions, aesthetic 'mood' and tendencies are evident for all to see and contribute to, rather than go against them]

"qa" is both a question and an answer; it stands for "quoted artist"
not necessarily the most quoted artist, but one whose "quotation marks" we particularly like, and amongst which we have selected to highlight 7
so, for for the week starting 101010, "qa" is
