but we know that what we do makes no sense, but we love it :-)

About Quite Useless
All Art Is Quite Useless © Oscar Wilde
This is the place for Thinking Photographers. It is intended to gather all kinds of artistic expressions, however crazy they may seem to the rest of the world.
It is quite often that the pictures that we treasure the most are overlooked and neglected by crowds. These images are simply useless to them: they aren't like what those people are used to see in fashion magazines, nor in their family albums. Sometimes even too radical for hanging up on a wall. With enough load of self-irony, we can say they are actually useless.
Send the best of your "useless" photos here. This is the place where they will be surely appreciated.
Film photography is extremely welcome. Toy cameras, polaroids, plastic lenses, self-made cameras, exotic development processes - all are welcome here. Digital photos are somewhat less welcome, unless they are really really precious and beautiful.
Group membership is not open to everyone.. When trying to join, consider it as submission of your work to a magazine. It may easily be declined, because the moderator expects something different to be shown in the group.
There is a spin-off sister group for those whose content is marked as "moderate" or "restricted": QU 18+. All rules from this group apply there as well.
The Quite Useless Pool is translated in a syndicated account at Livejournal. You can see the thumbnails in your friends list if you add it.
Also it is quite convenient to see the contents through Flickriver. Also the 18+ group is visible there without any age restrictions. Anyway it's quite... safe for the young ones.
Also it is very much welcome to have your photos licensed as Creative Commons. Then they are automatically shown in Flickrobot, because this licensing allows us to show your work outside Flickr.
We have PUBLISHED OUR OWN MAGAZINE! Also Magazine issue No. 2 is open for submissions!
