08 Jun 13 - If your image includes the Ottawa River, you can also include it in the Ottawa River pool. This is another group which I administer.

Quebec Travel Pics is a moderated group.

Group admin: Rob Huntley

Showcase your travel images while attracting viewers to your flickr photostream. The intent is to give visibility to your quality travel images on outside websites when flickr badges or widgets are used, bringing viewers to your images as well as the group pool. The group is moderated to ensure quality and relevance at the same time excluding "inappropriate" images. There is a daily posting limit to encourage high quality submissions and to make the job of moderating the queue manageable.

Guidelines:
- Anyone can submit photos.
- The use of images created by other photographers is copyright infringement (that includes already published postcards);
- Images with identifiable persons may be rejected since these would normally require model releases unless the images are of editorial nature.
- Geotagging (placing your photo on the flickr map) is recommended but not required. It will help those who are interested to know where the picture was taken.

One option for displaying the group's images on a website is with a flickriver badge. This badge is available in several formats. Pictures are presented as either most recent or most interesting, with the option of shuffling when reloaded. It is not a requirement to join this group to obtain the badge code for your website. Click on the badge below and see the flickriver presentation for yourself. To obtain the code, go to the flickriver badge creator page. Be sure to select the group badge tab.

Alternatively a profile widget can be placed on your site. It can be made at the BigHugeLabs.com profile widget page. This graphic is linked to the group's main page and not to individual photos. Here is what the active Quebec Travel Pics profile widget looks like:

Next is an example of a standard flickr badge (for some reason they don't work on the Flickr group page so this is a graphic only Ontario example):

To display a flickr badge on your own website, visit badge maker tool. You need to have joined the group to be able to make this group's badge. Several badge formats can be chosen. Be sure to:
- select the "Quebec Travel Pics" group in Step 2.
- select "A random selection" in step 3.

Thanks for being part of Quebec Travel Pics
... Rob
