About Vintage Quality Inns and Courts Historical images related to Quality Inn hotels and motels, including those under the Quality Courts title. The chain, best known for its sunburst logo, was among the first lodging associations when it was established just before World War II serve member motels in the eastern U.S. and Canada, expanding to become a nationwide operation in the mid-1960s and later internationally beginning in the 1970s. Today, Quality is part of the Choice Hotels group. Throughout its history, the chain has been known under these titles: --Quality Courts Motels, 1939-68 --Quality Motels, 1969-71 --Quality Inns, 1972-present.
