About Ukrainian Easter Eggs - PysankyUkrainian Easter Eggs are called "pysanky". Pysanka (pis'-ahn-kah) (singular) is a Ukrainian word meaning "an egg that has been written on." These beautifully hand decorated eggs were made using a wax resist process similar to batik, with brightly colored dyes and beeswax that is applied with a kistka. This ancient folk art has been handed down through the generations. |
