About Pyro Film Chemistry

For anyone who uses or is interested in pyro film processing, whether ABC, PMK, or another version. Please share your photos and your expertise!

Good external sources:

The Massive Film Developing Chart provides times and concentrations for PMK and other versions, organized by film type and speed/exposure.

Gordon Hutching's Book of Pyro (1992) gives a good overview of its history and lots of detailed directions for using pyro with a variety of film formats.

Steve Anchell's Darkroom Cookbook (2000) gives several do-it-yourself recipes and more history on pages 68-71 and 173-179. His Film Developing Cookbook (1998) covers Pyro and other tanning developers in Chapter 8, pages 73-81.
