Am I the very first?
Honestly, it is a bit scary. ;)
My name is Olga and I am a newbie here. I've discovered the podcast only recently and couldn't stop watching and taking notes of small and very useful things that Photoshop, Lightroom and the like allow us to do.
Thank you very much John for the great work.
Here is my first attempt.
Oh, there are already some photos in the pool ;)

Hooray to ojka! This is a single shot, right?
I think the assignment was to post-process one photo four different ways.
We seem to be having some difficulty with this assignment based on the submissions.
What say you all? A good challenge, yes?

Certainly a good challenge. I'm still trying to choose an image to work on!

Thank you flyingdocphotos!
Yes, TripleJohnny this was a single shot. Did I manage to create an illusion that they are different? ;)

4 versions of a room in Tamworth Castle. I've processed images with these styles before but never all on one image!
Original is here

This is my original photo, taken in Grindelwald, Switzerland a couple of years ago.

Changed the weather here, adding some sleety snow to this version

Not quite black and white, decided to keep the colour on the window frames and the flags

For a bit of fun, I added another train and removed a couple of rocks from the foreground

I had done this some time ago when I couldn't decide which post processing of this shot I liked best.

These are my 4 results of playing around in an old Tabacco-factory, where the only lightsource was this left coca-cola-tank. The basic photo was taken a year ago and the last trip with lightroom and FS CS3 is due to John. Thank you John!!!

Hello everyone. I also am new here. Can't recall how I found the photowalkthrough.com site but it was not through Flickr. Now I'm hooked and look forward to more to come. Thanks John.
My conversions were rather simple. A single image of a fern in the shadows. On most days I feel as if something is missing in myself or in my life and this series is a representation of my ideal self and those variations of myself with something missing (rgb values removed).
original image (myself at 100% capacity):

something missing 1 (blue values removed):

something missing 2 (red values removed):

something missing 3 (green values removed):

A composite version:

I am new here too and new to Photoshop processing. I found Photowalkthrough after watching one of John's tutorials on the CD with Photoshop Creative magazine. Like Olga Makarova and LifeByDefault I got hooked and watched most of them. Thank you John!
V1 is the original shot with some spot edits and dodging and burning. I also moved the position of the ship on the horizon in an attempt to improve the composition. V2 adds a different sky (shot in more or less the same location the previous day). V3 uses a gradient map and added grain. V4 is an attempt at adding a texture effect. Everything is in one PS2 file. I just switch layer groups on and off for the versions so they all share the basic processing of the image (V1). There is a layer to switch the ship in and out of the image.

My turn!

I didn't crop this different ways - I don't think that would be possible. Seeing it now I'd like to have NOT chopped off the leaf on the left hand side, and NOT had the leaf in front of the violet in the front. But hey, 20/20 hindsight!

It took me a while to get around to doing this assignment. I got stuck on a 4th version, ohwell. I know it's already passed.
