Welcome to Photo Technique - a companion Flickr group for our Photo Technique blog.

We set up our group to help with our challenges (see below) and also to share photography techniques, tips and tricks.
We welcome your contributions and participation.

We welcome "safe" images which meet one (or more) of the following:

1) They contribute to our current Challenge.

2) They are posted specifically to share a photographic technique, tip or trick, but don't forget to tell us WHY you are posting them here AND/OR what you've done to get the desired effect, or they will be removed!

3) You would like some advice about a photographic technique, and you need to illustrate your point wth a photograph.


PLEASE HELP US TO KEEP ON TRACK!

Don't post anything just because you want to showcase it - there are thousands of other groups you can use for this!
Any images which we feel have not been not posted in the spirit of the group will be REMOVED without further explanation, by the first admin or mod to see them.

Thank you to everyone who has taken, or is taking part in our Challenges - it's a fun way to push ourselves to try new photo techniques, or to look at things a little differently.

Why have a Challenge Gallery? We know it's not the winning, but the taking part, really we do, it's just that we thought it might be nice to show you who's won each Challenge so far, as voted for by members of Photo Technique.

Challenge No 49 was 'Not what it seems' and it was won by Helen Maria Brown with a deceptively cold ceiling:


Challenge No 48 was 'My love/hate for winter' and it was won by Helen Marie Brown with this lovely and cheerful winter smiley:



Challenge No 47 was "Documented". It was won by Riekie vd B with this beautiful yet sad photo of an iconic Dutch landscape that has to make way for a highway:



Challenge No 46 was "Bright".
It was won by Moser's Maroon and starprice Colin with two totally different, but equally brilliant pictures:

Challenge No 40 was "Tabletop".
It was won by bob the bolder with this wonderful piece of black humour:

It was won by Son of Fugazi with this excellent moody shot:

Challenge No 38 was "Animal Magic".
Another another two-way tie, with two superb; this time from Dale w Hill and Moser's Maroon:

Another two-way tie; this time between Bob Donkin and bob the bolder:

It was won by bob the bolder, with this pretty and perfectly framed view:

It was a two-way tie, between Son of Fugazi and Moser's Maroon:

It was won by Mrs Logic, with a lot of help from her friend Helen,
who allowed herself to be press-ganged as the model:
