I'm new here and this is my first post and attempt at participation. I hope I did this right. I've added myself and my daughter to the picture. Subtle but there.

My first try too. My friend Junko is looking at the guidebook, and my friend Colin is peering out from a doorway behind Martin. :-)

That's me looking all depressed, my friend is in the back doing the Marilyn Monroe impression. Shadows are NOT easy.

Toquinha1977, indeed shadows are a nightmare, I had to distort the shadow layer and then handpaint some more back in and I'm still not happy with them..

Toquinha1977 and FilmColourist, nice work on the shadows. I didn't change shadows (not sure I needed to) but did work to get the lighting right on the figures. It didn't quite work on Junko (foreground); she still looks fluorescently lit. Colin (background) came out better I think.
I actually had the hardest time with the scale.
I think that, of all the added figures, the Marilyn Monroe figure looks the most like she's actually there in the original photo--nice work.
Oddly enough, Martin, who was really in the original photo, looks a bit pasted-in himself--although his shadow is very realistic. ;-)
This was a great idea for a game--can't wait to see who else joins the assembly!

This is awesome! I love the climber (lighting is perfect!) and the dogs the best. I'm glad Martin got someone to hold his hand too.
I feel bad for Tonquinha1977's friend.... hafta figure out some way to get her some backup! :-)

rg250871 your edits are good, but you put two in a row. Kind of defeats the purpose of the tennis idea. Don't worry about it now though. The one with Martin holding the girls hand is great. Almost looks real.
I've put in my parents cat (left in picture) with her tongue stuck out. I'll think of something more original next.

I felt the big open space in front needed someone... I didn't have any family/friends photos that showed whole standing people, so I used these young women, even though I don't know them (I did take the photo, and I do also have photos of people I know dressed like this.... but they just aren't in the right pose). Sorry for bending the rules. :-)
Dang, those shadows are rough! I shoulda just cloned 'em in, but I was trying to get the shape right... shoulda prob'ly cloned a bunch of shadow & then cut it into the shape, but I'm tired now.

I'm not to fussed now if you put in somebody you don't know. As long as you keep it realistic as possible. Birdfarm you did a good edit with those Japanese woman. Really good shadows to.

CJM, (laughing) yes, Martin definitely has to see this!!! :-)
The woman in the bathing suit now appears to be disapproving of my friend Troy; I can't imagine why, as that's a very impressive fish by any standards. Maybe she thinks he's over-dressed. ;-)

anuradhasarup - good edit, but you need to upload the large size. Download the large size from the previous photo. Edit that, upload it and then post here in medium. If you done this already, great, but you need to upload the large photo into your account.

oh, that's sad! :-( :-( :-( what happened there? Anuradha, please do try again. I'm sorry your first try was frustrating for you. For myself at least, I wasn't annoyed with you or anything like that, if that's how it came across--just excited to continue the game. Please stick around and try again. I liked your monk!

For Anuradha and anyone else who needs to know... the problem is that across the top of her photo, the only options others see are, "add to faves," "add note," or "blog this."
So you need to change the setting that gives others permission to view and download larger versions of your image. You can do this by clicking on "you" (on top of any page), and select "your account." You''ll see a page of account settings/preferences. Click on "allowing downloads" to change that setting.
Good luck!

Hi
Virginia, a big thanks for taking the time and the patience to identify the problem and recommend how it's to be solved.
I did go and change the setting to allow downloads as you'd suggested but don't have the nerve to post again. God only knows what else might go wrong and hold you guys up again!
Anyway it'll be fun to watch how each thread developes even if I don't participate :-)

Forever27, indeed, a giant lady! One problem, you didn't include the last two edits (Sean & the Tibetan monk)... you need to download CJM's pic (above yours) and make your addition to it. (assuming your addition is considered within CJM's rules). Shouldn't be too difficult... we don't want to leave those two out now do we! :-)
P.S. CJM, oh, there's still some space left!! ;-) ;-)

I totally missed those two, so sorry... I'm thinking that the lady was too much... and I wasn't satisfied with the lighting I was trying to match, so I think the picture might look better without her.
What are your thoughts?

I think the picture is fine, but the lady is quite big! The lighting doesn't quite match, but this is only for fun so it's not really important but does add to the realism. As long as Sean and the monk get back into the picture it's fine to carry on.
As regards to the picture being to much, before I added the girl next to Martin, I typed in "holding hands" in search and this was one of the pictures I found. I was going to ask the account holder if I could use it but in the end decided it was to scary and this picture would definitely be to much!!!! Link below.

Since this one seems to be winding down, I took the liberty of going a bit farther afield from the "yourself or someone you know" rule. :-) I also added an accessory (the sign), but that's a bigger step outside the rules of the game...
C J M, let me know if this is not ok & I'll take it down...

There's still a whole empty window, folks, as well as some space in the middle foreground... C'mon! C'mon! ;-)

hahahahaha, I love that! awesome work, hundredhandslap!!!
I've had trouble knowing what to put iin the window too... it's also difficult because the scale of all the figures close to that wall is totally wacky--both in relation to each other and to Martin, the original figure. Oh well. I totally love this thread (in case that wasn't obvious already!) :-)
C J M, has Martin seen this yet?? What does he think?

I sent him an email a while back and he didn't reply. But he's one of the laziest people I've ever met. So he probably looked at it and then didn't bother getting back to me! I live in London and he lives in Nottingham so I don't see him that regularly. But I'll phone him soon to find out what he thinks.
