22 May 08 - This group was formed initially to determine the history of the John E. Thompson steam collection that was assembled in the Chicago area between 1967 and 1970, and how it was disposed, but members of this group may take it in other directions. This is a limited group, although members are free to post pictures or topics as to the preservation history of other preserved steam locomotives or preservationists. Until I see which direction this idea takes, I'm requiring you to be a member to post.

About Preserved U. S. Steam Locomotive History Group

Using Photographs and Discussion to Help Preserve Surviving Steam Locomotives in the Midwest, document the efforts of past preservationists, and to further the efforts of future preservation. This is not an album of old train pictures as such, and that content and comments be historical, not old memories except where pertinent.
