About Promo Model Cars
This group is for sharing photos, history or questions about promo model cars.
Please also add photos of the 1/25th annual kits that were produced along with promotional models.
Promo cars are as old as the real car and are a collectible piece of history that was created to help sell the then new real cars. Plastic promo models were made mostly by AMT, MPC, PMC, Johan and a few by Hubley. Earlier pot metal model promo cars were predominantly produced by Banthrico, Master Caster and National Products. Automobile manufacturers and dealership personnel have long recognized the value of having small replicas of the full-sized cars that they manufactured and sold.
